Hampshire is within a one hour drive of a market of 18 million people. Well connected by road, rail, air and sea, the county has two major motorways, two airports, two ports and rail and road connections providing easy access to London and the rest of the UK.
Two major motorways (the M3 running north to London and the M27 running from Portsmouth in the east to the New Forest in the west) pass through Hampshire. The recently opened A3 Hindhead tunnel provides a dual carriageway link between London and Portsmouth.
Main line rail links connect London to the major towns in the county, a journey by train between the capital and Southampton takes little over an hour, while a journey between Portsmouth and London takes approximately an hour and a half.

Hampshire has its own international airport at Southampton with its own dedicated railway station. It caters for over 900 weekly flights to around 50 destinations across Europe.
Hampshire also has Europe’s leading business airport located at Farnborough.

Hampshire has two major ports at Portsmouth and Southampton. Regular ferry services leave from Portsmouth to France and Spain, and Southampton is the country's premier cruise port and the UK’s principle automotive port.
The Isle of Wight is linked to the mainland via six ferry routes that operate out of Lymington, Portsmouth, Southampton and Southsea. The fastest crossing is by hovercraft between Ryde and Southsea, which takes approximately ten minutes.
