In 1989, ICS Cool Energy - a temperature control solutions provider, chose Southampton as the headquarters of its brand new temperature control solutions business.
Fast forward 28 years later, ICS Cool Energy still calls the city its home – now employing around 300 people throughout the UK and Europe, and with offices in seven other European countries.
The company offers an extensive range of ISO-accredited products, delivering heating and cooling to a range of industries such as food processing, plastics and rubber, pharmaceutical and healthcare, aerospace and automotive, as well as general manufacturing.
Simon West, Group Chief Executive at ICS Cool Energy said: “Hampshire has proven to be the ideal location to grow our temperature control business. From our facility here in Southampton, and a second in Bradford, we stock a broad range of equipment up to 230kW, ensuring incredibly fast delivery throughout the UK. A further string to our bow is our 24/7 back-up and technical support offering, ensuring our customers can maintain their heating and cooling needs – wherever they are in the country.”
Its steady growth is thanks to its continued investment in innovative technology, equipment and services, ensuring that it never stands still and is always one step ahead of the competition. In fact, ICS Cool Energy is now a £50m temperature control solutions provider offering nearly 30 years’ international experience within the HVAC and industrial markets.
Simon West continued: “With nearly 30 years’ experience supplying industry and the built environment, our reputation has been built on the core philosophy of providing every customer with comprehensive, high-performance temperature control systems - tailored to meet their needs, no matter how challenging the application.”
The company is also one of a select few temperature control specialists who are Carbon Trust accredited suppliers. This means that any small to medium-sized end-user business in England, Wales and Scotland, can apply for a grant of up to £10,000, to support the purchase of energy-saving equipment for their premises. Given the fact that poor temperature control, both in terms of process cooling and ambient air temperature, can dramatically increase a company’s monthly utility bills, investing in energy efficient technology can reap dividends.
