Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus, Fareham
This former navy airfield site in Fareham was designated as an Enterprise Zone in 2011 and since that time, over £50 million has been invested into the site. The Enterprise Zone has been designed to provide a high quality environment for companies and their supply chains within the engineering, automotive, marine and aerospace sectors.
Daedalus East is the main area of redevelopment, where 27 service ready plots have been created to accommodate commercial buildings on a design and build basis to suit the needs of small, medium and large occupiers. Plots with airside access are also available and can benefit from the recently upgraded runway.
Daedalus East is also home to Fareham College’s 43,000 sq. ft. Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Manufacturing and Advanced Skills Training (CEMAST) as well as a new Innovation Centre for SMEs that provides a variety of high bay workshops.
Daedalus West is currently awaiting development and comprises 14 hectares of land with outline planning permission for 22,900 sq. m (247,000 sq. ft.) of general industrial and storage & distribution uses, providing a suitable environment for companies requiring a larger plot, secure premises and access to an operational airfield.
